Microsoft has launched a preview feature of Copilot summaries for Power BI reports in email subscriptions, available for all standard report subscriptions on eligible capacities. This feature provides users with insights about the entire report or specific pages when they subscribe.

To set up Copilot summaries in email subscriptions, users can:

1. Select the ‘Subscribe’ option in the desired Power BI report.
2. Choose ‘Standard Subscription.’
3. Decide whether to receive a full report summary or just a page summary.

Eligible users will automatically receive Copilot summaries, but they can opt-out if desired. A ‘Preview summary’ option allows users to see a sample of the content, and they can test their subscription by selecting ‘Send Now’ after saving.

However, there are some considerations: this feature is not available in Government clouds or regions where Copilot is unsupported, nor for dynamic per-recipient subscriptions, paginated reports, scorecards, or dashboards. Additionally, if Copilot takes too long to respond—often due to large reports—users may not receive a summary.
